Fashion trends maxi dresses are making a comeback redtagcrazy.com blog

Fashion is one thing that is constantly changing.  There are tons of different styles and trends and something for everyone.  Because of such variety, it can be hard for people to find the style that they “fit into” at first.

Do you like the punk statement, or the preppy, mac makeup, perhaps the flashback to the 80s trend that is super hot right now?  Whatever your preferences may be, there is always something out there.

Some of the most current trends right now are the maxi dress, as I said before, the flashback to the 80s, and the ever so popular bohemian feel.

The maxi dress, this is one bandwagon I am happy to jump on.  Maxi dresses have been popping up in all types of stores for awhile now, and I am finally the proud owner of one of my own.

I find that although there is such a variety of styles, fabrics, and patterns, it was very hard to find one that was figure flattering for me.  Being 5′5″ and 110 lbs, im short and pretty small, and i felt like i was drowning in most of the maxi dresses I tried on.  It was an absolute steal too, which of course just made me love it even more, at $49.00 from American Rag.  (Unfortunately I couldn’t get a picture to put up,wholesale mac makeup, sorry.)

Another great thing about Maxi dresses: although they have some extra fabric, they really do vary in price and I even found some for $15 at Wet Seal.  They are also great for hiding problem areas, and fantastic as maternity dresses.

Also, they are so easy to dress up or down, they are perfect for almost any and all occasions.  Add a pair of  strappy gladiator sandals and you’re ready to run errands or go to the beach.  Or, step  into  some wedges and add a pair of earrings to dress it up for a night out.

As I said before there really is such a great variety in maxi dresses, not even just the print or color, but you can get other styles.  The tops of these dresses come in a wide variety from strapless, to halter, or spaghetti strap, each have its own personality.

As a new fan of maxi dresses, and probably a fan for life, I am glad I have accepted this one trend.  Next time, I’ll look into the 80s flashback trend.

Born and raised in Buffalo, NY was like any other predominately wealthy suburb.  I went to public schools and was surrounded by the same people all my life.  This didn’t really leave room for a lot of diversity between people, or fashion.

Kids were really caught up with whatever was in style including UGGS,wholesale mac makeup, big sunglasses, leggings, etc.  And being that most of the kids had money, they always had the newest, hottest, most expensive things out there.  My family didn’t have tons of money, like everyone else, and I was not into a lot of the same trends; my number one priority was always about being comfortable.

Also, living in Buffalo, winters were frigid and I was all about the sweat pants and hoodies.  Summers were the exact opposite though super hot and humid, so shorts and a wife beater were my uniform.  I never really cared that much about how I looked or fashion in general, cheap mac makeup,  in fact, a lot of things that were “in” I found to be quite ugly and obnoxious.

For example: UGGS. While both of my sisters had a pair I absolutely hated them, and found them to be even worse, when all of my friends moms started wearing them too.  (sorry UGG lovers).  My younger sister was the exact opposite of me, though, she loved her UGGS and all things fashion.  She was very bohemian and into a lot of the hippie styles and for so long I hated all her clothes.

Once I graduated high school I decided to go to college in my hometown at the University of Buffalo, mac makeup, and this is where my fashion sense took a 180.  UB is surprisingly a very large and diverse school.  It is at the top of the rankings for engineering, and business, among many others.  Also, UB reaches the top of the rankings in having the most international students, so I got to meet a ton of new people with very different cultures.

My first semester I was still stuck in my high school uniform of hoodies and sweatpants and oversized t-shirts, but as I became closer friends with a lot of different people (especially New Yorkers, tons upon tons of people from NYC and Rochester come to UB) I started to become more aware of how I dressed.  Black Thursday, I woke up at 3 and dragged my mom out to the mall where I really picked up some things that were more trendy, but still a little different.  I came back second semester with a totally updated wardrobe and one that made me feel 1000% better and more confident about myself!

I never really conformed to the styles that everyone else finds fashionable, instead, I have created my own.  I think it’s so important to feel comfortable and confident in your own skin and it’s surprising how easily clothes can help you do that.  I now LOVE shopping and it’s something me and my sister really bond over now.

Upon finding RTC I have become addicted like so many others, because I still get queesy paying high prices for cute clothes (but that’s another story).  I recently got married and moved across the country, therefore, my style has evolved right along with that, and I have become very attached to my clothes.  Every piece has it’s own story and memory and I love that.  Looking back at old pictures I can’t help but laugh at some of the things I used to wear, but am so thankful for my school and friends for helping me become so much more comfortable and confident than I was in my sweats.

How To Go Vintage Part 1 redtagcrazy.com blog

How To: Go Vintage Part 1

I love vintage clothes! I try to find ways to incorporate my favorite vintage pieces into my current, everyday wardrobe. I have vintage dresses, skirts and sweaters (ok, and some really dorky 70’s jeans), but I tend to gravitate towards cool jackets. I thought it would be fun to show how my vintage jackets are working with some of my RedTagCrazy purchases. Let me just say, I do not, in any way, presume to be a “stylist”. I just know what I like and I thought I would share some of my creations with you. I hope you enjoy it. But hey, cheap mac makeup, if you don’t… as the contestants on American Idol say when the judges didn’t like their performance… “Well, I had fun”!

(oh,wholesale mac makeup, and I might add – exceptionally bad hair day today…oh well)

This is an authentic, old line, leather motorcycle jacket that I picked up in a vintage shop for $50.00. It is actually my warmest and most favorite jacket. Here, mac makeup wholesale, I put it with one of my favorite RTC purchases,  the Aude Bradley Thermal  in Brick.

This suede brown jacket I acquired in a trade at a vintage clothing store. I put it with my Black Aude Geller ¾ sleeve tee and a pair of Stitch’s jeans

This jacket was a hand-me-down from my Mom-in-law!  It was her favorite jacket – oh, a few years ago! And yes, the flowers are embroidered on.  I paired it with my Zooey Muscle Tee in Rosewood and a pair of Zlush Jeans with the Dragon Embroidery.

This jacket is actually a soft velvet, with rhinestone buttons.  I put it with my Paige Blue Heights denim and Emerald LinQ Lurex Crossback Cami.

This authentic vintage denim jacket is one of my favorites – although it does not blend with current denim very well.  So, I wear it with my LinQ Silk Roll Top Skirt in Silver and Aude Hudson Tank in White.

Jessica’s Keepers Part IV redtagcrazy.com blog

redtagcrazy.com,wholesale mac makeup

current sale alerts blog my account

Here is still more stuff that I’ve bought here in recent history. I promise, eventually I will run out of things to blog about. Cross my heart.

Aude Wegman Top: Smoke, cheap mac makeup, 3

I already owned a lot of gray but I needed this! I really did! *Looks around to make sure my mom isn’t reading over my shoulder*. This top is almost a burnout fabric. It is sheer enough to absolutely require a tank underneath.

88 Orange Beach Long Sleeve Scoop Neck: Midnite, Size 3

My favorite long sleeve tee in the universe. This was my first 88 orange purchase and lead to the other million 88 orange things you may have seen in my other blogs. It does fit a little big as the description states. I don’t like things super tight, so I’ve been going with a 4 in my other things from this brand.

Aude Toni Tank: Blueberry, 3

Basic tank. Fits well. Soft. This will immediately enter into my tank rotation. The detailing on the edges is really pretty and fun.

88 Orange Monarch Elbow Sleeve Top: Ocean, Size 4

This top is a little sheer but its super soft and amazing like all 88 orange . I might layer it, I might wear it alone. Its really versatile and isn’t at all tight in the arms, which is really not that common for me,mac makeup wholesale!

Aude Ron Button Down Top: White, 3

Love. I. Love. This. Its really soft and fits perfectly. I wore this with a pair of DL1961 skinnies and it made my whole day. The cuffing on the arms is cute. With my giant arms I can’t really find any crisp white blouses that fit me in the arms and aren’t huge everywhere else. Aude fixed this problem and I want one of these in every color.

Thanks for reading and I hope this was helpful!

Top 10 Curvy Ladies Part One redtagcrazy.com blog

redtagcrazy.com

current sale alerts blog my account

Since I enjoyed writing the other post about being comfortable in your curves so much, I thought I’d jump on the “top ten” bandwagon and come up with my list of admirably curvy ladies. Without further ado, here is the first installment:

10. Jessica Simpson

I just had to put her on here, especially given the most recent media attention she’s been getting for putting on some weight. Unfortunately, given some of her denim fiascos, there was no way I could rank her higher on this list. But, I’m glad she’s made a stand that she feels great, and I love seeing all the other celebrities rally behind her.

She’s also coming out with her own line for full-figured women. I hope that as she adjusts to her new curves, she’ll learn valuable lessons in dressing them properly and never make the mistake of wearing high-waisted mom jeans ever again. We’ve got plenty of hot moms here on RTC, and I guarantee none of them wear mom jeans – neither should you, Jessica!

9. Queen Latifah

Every time I see her, she looks just a little bit thinner, cheap mac makeup, but she’s always looking polished and fabulous. She knows how to dress her curves appropriately and show off her great figure, mac makeup wholesale! And for all the curvy women who think that they cannot pull of white or light colors… look and learn! I know this is cheating… I didn’t outright say all ladies would be wearing denim, but it just so happens that Queen Latifah is the only one on my list not wearing denim. She’s still awesome, though.

8. Selma Blair

I debated long and hard on this one between Selma and Mandy Moore, since both have a similar casual style. In the end, Ms. Blair won out, since I think she’s a tad curvier. Selma always has such a relaxed, comfy look. Here she is rocking some boyfriend jeans – Paige Wilshire Rebel to be exact! She’s been seen with rolled and unrolled cuffs.

7. Tyra Banks

Love her or hate her, wholesale mac makeup, she’s done a world of good in helping women embrace their curves. She’ll be the first one to talk candidly about her flaws, and then tell you what she does to camouflage them so you never know. Here she is sporting some J Brand jeans. I love the big flare on her, because it does a great job of balancing her upper body.

6. America Ferrera

Everyone loves a little Ugly Betty. It’s hard to believe that she’s the same girl from the show; she always looks so cute and fabulous offset. When I saw her wearing these Paige jeans (Laurel Canyons, as a matter of fact), I knew I had to put her on here pretty darn quick. I wish we could see the waist on her, but I still love her long top.

I hope you enjoyed the first half. Stay tuned for the top five women who wear their curves proudly!

Top 10 Best Dressed Men of Rock and Roll Part 1 redtagcrazy.com blog

redtagcrazy.com

current sale alerts blog my account

I decided today that the men and women of rock and roll had been, so far, sadly overlooked in our top 10 categories. Maybe, because their style isn’t always mainstream. But isn’t that what makes them so cool? Well, I think so anyway. Therefore, I have attempted to pick 10 of, what I consider to be, the best and/or “unique-est” dressed men in Rock and Roll. Truthfully, I had a hard time narrowing the list to just 10 (ok, well, maybe I have a soft spot for rock and rollers!); Anyway, sorry if I missed one of your favorites. Here are the first 5 (plus one special extra)…

1. David Bowie is one of (or maybe the) first rockers to ditch the flamboyant costumes in favor of a more suave and elegant style. He has continued to be one of the best dressed men in Rock and Roll, even down to the cuff links, cheap mac makeup!

2. You’ve gotta love a guy who is as creative with pinstripes and hats as Jack White. But, even without the pinstripes, mac makeup, he can put together a pretty cool ensemble.

3. Ben Corbett (of Gentle Ben and His Sensitive Side) is an import from Brisbane, Australia. I don’t know what it is about this guy, but he definitely has something ultra smooth going for him. And, I couldn’t decide, so he gets two pictures. (hmm, I think I like this guy – and his music is pretty cool, too).

4. How can you not include a guy like Jon Bon Jovi. First of all, there are not many rockers who marry (and stay married) to their high school sweethearts. But also, any guy who can successfully incorporate the rock and roll-required leather jacket into a dressy suit deserves to be on the list.

5. Don’t we all wish we could dress wild like Mick Jagger (well, maybe in private… with the curtains closed…when no one else is home…). Anyway, boy, does this guy know how to pick out and work a blazer. In fact, I could probably do a whole blog on Jagger’s jackets (hmm, and maybe I will). But, here is one of my favorites;

Purple, for Rock and Roll Royalty, mac makeup wholesale!

My first posthumous pick is Jim Morrison because, let’s face it, there is a reason women (and men) continue to fall in love with Jim… and it isn’t just the lyrics to his songs

Swimsuits for Women- What suits you redtagcrazy.com blog

redtagcrazy.com,wholesale mac makeup

current sale alerts blog my account

Living in San Diego, cheap mac makeup, you tend to notice people on the beach. And while I don’t like to judge people, I have to say that there are reasons why certain body types aren’t meant for certain types of bathing suits. In this article, I’ll give a swimsuit for certain body types and a cute cover up to go with it.

The Curvy Woman

If your body generally tends to run on the curvier side (like me) you might think you can’t pull off a hot swimsuit. Well, you’d be dead wrong. With any of these suits, you’re guaranteed to look sexy and put together all summer long. Try this Oriental Bandeau Swimsuit with Detachable Straps (www.figleaves.com). It’s pretty oriental design is figure flattering, it offers great support for your girls, and has a detachable strap which creates two different styles of suits. It’s available in a variety of sizes as is priced at $98.

Do you happen to have a larger chest area? Not to worry. Hoola Swimwear offers this amazingly cute suit for under $50. Soprano Candy Bikini Top & Bottom offers amazing support for your girls, and has either a cute matching bikini brief or side-tie bikini bottom.

A cute cover up for either of these suits is this Crinkle Cotton Beach Dress by Bravissimo. Its halter style ties at the neck, its machine washable, and it’s the perfect summer accessory to any bathing suit. Its beautiful lace detailing is sure to make any woman feel dainty and demure. For $30, how can you go wrong? Both this and the Candy Bikini can be found at bravissimo.com.

The Athletic Woman

Show off your fit body with one of these uber cute suits. This Island Company Calypso Swimsuit is a bandeau style suit with a detachable loop necktie and full coverage on the bottom. Its cute yellow accent ties bring the whole suit together for one immaculate look. Prices range from $56-59 and can be found at islandcompany.com.

Want something that totally shows of your shoulders? Try Lacoste’s Collegiate Striped Halter Bathing Suit. Another bandeau style top that ties around the neck, its cute stripe pattern is form flattering and it supplies more than enough coverage on the bottom. The cut of the suit sows off your to-die-for legs and your sexy toned arms and shoulders. And, of course, Lacoste’s signature crocodile emblem is too cute for words! It’s avaliable in many sizes and can be purchased for $65.99 at lacoste.com

(unfortunately picture didn’t work when I tried posting.).

A cute cover up option for either of these suits is Victoria’s Secret Fly-A-Way Cover-up Dress. Available in black or plum, its halter neckline shows off those sexy shoulders again and offers enough peep room to get a glimpse of gorgeous tanned leg. Perfect for when you don’t want to catch any more rays but still want to look totally hot. You can purchase it at victoriassecret.com for $33.99.

The Petite Body

Show off your body in this delectable Ed Hardy Anchor of Love Swim Suit. This is perfect for less-endowed women who don’t mind minimal coverage. String top and string bottom are easy to tie (but I wouldn’t recommend jumping full force into a wave) and if you’re a fan of Ed Hardy, the heart tattoo design is cute. Definitely pricey at $156, it’s worth it if you feel like splurging.

Want something a little cheaper? Try out American Eagles Purple Polka-Dot Bikini. Its functional string ties are easy to use and it’s perfect for making your legs appear longer and accentuating your chest (even if you don’t necessarily have a-lot up top). It’s relatively affordable, at $29.50 for the top and $24.50 for the bottom.

Want a cute cover up? Victoria’s Secret has this great Terry Strapless Dress that comes in four classic colors (green, navy, mac makeup, white and black) and is really affordable at only $29.

Hopefully, you gals who fit under these categories will have some new ideas to take with you when you next go shopping for a killer suit.

Erica’s Purchases (so far!) redtagcrazy.com blog

redtagcrazy.com

current sale alerts blog my account

I’ve really enjoyed reading the experiences of the other bloggers about their purchases on RTC so far, so I thought I’d share my successes and failures, too! I don’t have pictures of my stuff yet, but hope to do that soon.

Shipment #1

Keepers:

Zlush New York Newsprint Top (White): I really love this top. I like that it is tight on my hips, but just grazes over my stomach to hide some of my insecurities. It does put your arms out in the open, though, so I’ll be making sure I ramp up with some tricep kickbacks to keep everything in order there. I will say though, that the fit is definitely snug, since it is a juniors cut, but I still feel comfortable in my regular size.

Lucky Brand Marcie Sedona Bootleg Jeans: I got these in my usual size, and I most definitely could have gone one, if not two sizes smaller. Nevertheless, they are super comfortable, so I just decided to keep them. The wash is a lot lighter than I normally choose to wear, but I really liked how they looked. The length was just a smidge long for me, but I am opting not to hem them so that I can wear them with heels and/or boots.

Lucky Brand Blue Sky Zippered Hoodie: Yeah, you all know I love this one. In fact, I had to wear it for my avatar picture.  It does run big, but it’s comfy, and I plan on putting it into my regular weekend rotation.

Returners:

LinQ Heathered Tank Top (Orchid): I can’t tell you how much it pains me that I need to return this, because it was gorgeous. I got it in a large, but it just didn’t look right on me. Sometimes I am smack dab between a medium and a large, mac makeup wholesale, and this was the perfect example of that. The torso fit just fine, wholesale mac makeup, but the straps fit strangely on me as well as around the chest.

LinQ Roll Top Waist Boho Skirt (Orchid): But only to get a different size!!! Are you kidding??

Shipment #2

Keepers:

Aude Lucy Zippered Hoodie (Black): I really thought that I should be more of a 3 in this one, but I wanted it so badly, I took my chances and ordered it in a 2. Not disappointed at all. It is a tad bit snug around my middle, but I am seriously working out hard and expect to solve that problem relatively quickly. It is the best hoodie I’ve ever owned. It is so soft and gorgeous and I want to live in it permanently.

LinQ Silk String Waist Skirt (Ink): This one’s just incredible, but you already knew that didn’t you? I didn’t make the same mistake twice: I got the correct size this time. So versatile and lovely.

LinQ Roll Top Waist Boho Skirt (Moss): This was my replacement for the too-big orchid skirt. I really prefer the orchid, but moss was the only one left – and it is still great.

LinQ Striped Polo Tee (Orange): I think this one actually may be my favorite purchase so far, and I almost didn’t get it. It is so, so comfortable and cute. And I also did not possess any orange in my wardrobe before this – and what a way to kick it off. It is so soft and fits my body really well.

Lucky Brand Wonder Florence Flare Jeans: I know that some people found these to run extremely large. For me, these actually fit very true to size, and even better than the first pair of Luckys I picked up. Maybe it has something to do with where the cut falls and also my gigantic hips. But whatever the case, they are comfortable, and because of the wash, I can wear these to work no problem, which excites me to no end. The best part is that the hem is perfect. I can definitely wear these with flats (and I am 5′4″) – no alterations necessary.

Savers:

Zlush Skull Button Pants (Pinstripe): These pants are actually very, very cute and flattering. They do cling tightly around the hips and thighs, cheap mac makeup, but they the effect is actually very slimming, as the flare balances everything out really nicely (at least for me). However, I’m not wearing these until I can replace the buttons. They are a bit frustrating trying to fit through the buttonholes on the pants, but definitely easily remedied. I’d also like to lose just a smidge more weight before wearing them comfortably, as again, they are definitely juniors sizes, so they sit a lot lower on the hip and fit a bit tighter compared to a regular fit.

Returners:

dVb Signature Bootcut (Black): I cannot express how sad I am that these just aren’t working for me. I got them a size up, but my thighs simply weren’t having it. They just did not fit well at all with my body, so I’ve gotta send ‘em back. But I love the jeans so, so much.

Aude Lolita Burnout Polo (Pacific): I got this one in a size 2, and it is definitely too small for me to wear out in public. But it is the softest, prettiest shirt ever. I thought about holding onto it and using it for inspiration to keep working out. And I was all set to do that… until I filled my cart with 7 more tops and a pair of Paiges. If there are many other things that could potentially work for me, then I think I shouldn’t be so silly and have decided to cut my losses and return this one also.

All in all though, I think that I’ve had a really good track record with my purchases so far. It is so hard to buy things online and know how they fit, but I love online shopping and wouldn’t trade it for anything.
